This is, frankly, the same kind of mystery to me as "why would anyone pay for Grammarly anymore?" Claude/ChatGPT do this. Does CalAI actually have its own more accurate computer vision model than they do? Is it just ... calling their API on the backend? There's a kind of hustle I will never have that finds it "obvious" that people will pay for something they absolutely don't need -- not in the sense that I'm judging their consumerism, in the sense that there's a cheaper bundled product.

I saw a post on LinkedIn by a graduate school friend of mine and I recognized the hallmarks of ChatGPT. It's eerie and depressing reading someone you've met -- made out with, even! -- put out something that is putatively from them, by them, and have it sound the same as every other ChatGPT-written post. It's like seeing someone you know, but a stranger's voice comes out of their mouth. But not just a stranger, the Borg.
I know elsewhere in the US got all they wanted this winter, but we were excited about our one and only late arriving snowfall yesterday. It's already melting away.

@moe_stu@theforkiverse.com It has been a long time (decades) since I was properly in my opera phase but this was not my experience. I actually couldn't enjoy opera at all *until* I started reading the libretto. I think it may matter for this question that I'm very textually oriented, lyrics are usually my first conduit into connecting with vocal music, and my favorite music is characterized by being lyrically complex.
